Each year our projects are guided by the end goal of seeing these issues addressed through legislation.
Electoral Reform
First pass the post is unfit for purpose in a multi-party democracy as it wildly distorts the will of the people, makes citizens unequal based on their geography and reduces competition in the marketplace of ideas. We must change the electoral system to a proportional one selected after consultations with citizens.
Housing Supply
Systemic failure has caused a shortage in housing which as an essential to life undermines the stability of our democracy. We must create a housing surplus and lift vacancy rates by removing barriers to housing construction.
The Oligopolies
Monopolistic companies have concentrated markets and captured their regulators. We pay more for products and get extorted for access to private rail infrastructure while billions in tax dollars are poured into unnecessary subsidies and contracts.
Wealth Inequality
Steadily increasing wealth inequality has concentrated power resulting in destabilizing corruption and a sense of unfairness. Steps should be taken nationally and internationally to identify and tax the wealth of the ultra rich.
