Montreal: The rent is lower, bike lanes stay where you put them, daycare costs less than a phone plan, and the phone plans cost less too. It's surreal for Canadians visiting to consider that, theoretically, they could actually live in this half-foreign land.

Three members of Canadian Civil have put this theory to the test, and one has given it serious thought. Paige is joined by Patrick Murphy and Jasmine Steffler of Oh The Urbanity!, who left Toronto for Montreal at the end of 2019, and by Cara Stern of the Missing Middle Podcast, who sat with exactly the same decision, weighed the options, and stayed in Toronto.
